Calgary is rich with its collection of parks and green spaces that add to the quality of life, health and wellness of Calgarians as places to play, hang out, learn or connect with the natural, historical or cultural treasures found in them.
There are many different types of parks cared for by the City of Calgary. They include the tot lot down the street, the green belt behind your neighbourhood, the manicured park downtown, and the big natural parks like Nose Hill. To those parks come families to play and picnic, people in your community to walk the dog or cycle, gardeners to see.
You can begin to contribute to the stewardship and sustainability (care and continuation) of a park or open space in your community by learning how, when, and why to be safe in it.
